Cats are sensitive animals that spend a great deal of their day grooming themselves. Wet fur is extremely uncomfortable for a cat and often takes a long time to dry.

Wet fur is also heavier than dry fur which makes a cat less nimble and easier for predators to catch and is also the shock factor.

Yet cats love to be out in the rain this is because it is instinctual aversion to still water in the wild, cats will usually only drink moving water which helps prevent them from becoming sick. Alternatively, rainwater can be cooler.
