Amur Leopard – A Big Cat on the Edge
The Amur leopard is one of the rarest big cats on Earth and one of the most remarkable examples of adaptation and survival. Found mainly in the Russian Far East and parts of north-eastern China, this elusive leopard has evolved to cope with harsh winters, deep snow and temperatures that can fall dramatically. Its thick, long winter coat provides insulation, while its powerful legs and broad paws help it move across difficult terrain.

Engineering may sound far removed from wildlife conservation, but carefully designed structures can make a significant difference.
Roads can become dangerous barriers for wild animals. Wildlife bridges, tunnels and underpasses can allow animals to crossroads without encountering vehicles. Similar structures have already been developed for wildlife in different parts of the world.
